Once weaned, our boys get to make up a boy band with older gelding supervision to cultivate good play and boundaries that make training them much easier later on. We want them to build good bone density through their rough housing and races across the pasture while jumping the irrigation ridges. The older supervision helps the younger colts not get too big for their britches when the hormones hit, which can occur if raised in less social settings.

Below Photos are July 2023 in their current broodmare and aunty herd.

Caliente (red dun) and Valeroso (grullo) ‘23 colts by Brioso. Caliente’s dam is Contessa who is out of Destinada. Valeroso is Destinada's colt this year.

Caliente

The first cross for Brioso and Contessa sure gave us a flashy colt. Definitely a crowd favorite whenever he gets shared on social media. He’s an in your pocket personality and has good substance for the folks that want a little more bone in their horse. He is a cross of well known bloodlines being out of a daughter of Patron and his own sire being Brioso who is a grandson of Charro. It’s a very active family combo in the kiger world and used internationally. He will be registered with KHAR. $5000 at weaning, can accept deposit to hold him until weaning age when full payment is due.

Valeroso

Classic grullo colt that is sure to turn heads. He’s a bold colt that is the first to investigate something new in his pasture with Caliente right on his hip. He is also out of bloodlines used internationally. Definitely going to be someone’s dream horse. Will be registered with KHAR.

$6500 at weaning, can accept deposit to hold him until weaning age when full payment is due.

Valeroso and Caliente love to play with each other and chase around the pasture. They trade off of who is “it”.

They also love to sleep hard and very much love their herd dynamic, so much so that the babies often sleep right next to each other when they have plenty of great sleeping spots.

Valeroso coming back up to the barnyard area after his dam was bred to Brioso. He loves to confidently lead the way and check new things out.

This is the first time the babies have seen the red satin sheet. It’s fun to watch how they interact with new objects.

Valeroso was the first to grab the satin sheet, which didn’t surprise me.

The babies get experience playing in the water at their leisure since we irrigate our pastures.
