West 12 Ranch

FACES OF WEST 12 RANCH

Matt and Barbara Butterworth

Matt and Barb have been running West 12 Ranch since 1987.  Matt's mother Mary Ann was actually the founder of West 12, starting the ranch in 1972.  Mary Ann passed away in 1987, leaving the ranch in Matt and Barb's capable hands.   Matt grew up on the ranch and has been involved in every aspect of horse care.  Matt and Barb met at Cal Poly, where both graduated with a degree in Ag Management.  After they were married, they came back to work on the ranch alongside Mary Ann.  They have two children, Josh and Sarah.  Josh is currently attending San Jose State.  Sarah graduated from the prestigious Joshua Institute at Hume Lake in the fall and is now attending classes at Delta College.  Matt and Barb have continued the tradition of excellent care at an exceptional price.

Tina

Tina first joined us in the beginning of the 2008 breeding season.  She came to us after working for a local equine veterinarian for years.  She has lots of experience with bandaging, medications and shots.  Tina is an important part of the ranch, feeding, putting horses on and off the eurocizer, working with the foals and helping in any other way needed.  Tina has a great "can-do" attitude and a never tiring spirit.  We are very happy to have her!

Jack the Wonder Dog

Jack came to the ranch in December of 2006.  He is an integral part of West 12, greeting visitors, prowling for invading pests and making sure everyone smiles.  Be sure to meet Jack during your next visit to W12, and maybe catch a game of soccer with him.  You'll be glad you did!
